Don Preston
Don met Frank Zappa and soon became a member of the Mothers Of Invention recording 35 albums/CDs and touring world wide. While in the "Mothers", he performed with John Lennon and was the music director for Meredith Monk. While in New York, Preston worked with Carla Bley who asked him to sing and play on "Escalator Over The Hill" with Jack Bruce and Linda Rondstadt. He, then, recorded Gil Evans' "Where Flamingos Fly" and toured with Gil. Preston has scored the music for 23 feature films (including "Apocalypse Now") and 19 plays, garnering 5 awards for plays. He has also performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and twice with the London Philharmonic. Preston wrote the music for the first three “Gary” plays along with 2 other plays by Murray Mednick in the past.
